DESCRIPTION:On Monday\, June 29th and Tuesday\, June 30th SFN will be hosting LivingWorks to facilitate Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training. ASIST is a two-day\, interactive\, evidence-based workshop that helps participants develop the skills and confidence to recognize when someone may be at risk of suicide\, engage in a supportive conversation\, and connect them with appropriate resources.\nWho is ASIST good for?\n\nEmployees who interact regularly with community members\, clients\, coworkers\, or the public.\nIndividuals who want to build confidence in recognizing and responding to someone who may be at risk of suicide.\nAnyone interested in developing practical intervention and support skills that can be used both in the workplace and in everyday life.\n\nWho SHOULD NOT take ASIST?\n\nIndividuals who are currently experiencing significant emotional distress or are in the midst of a personal crisis that may make participation difficult.\nThose who are not comfortable engaging in discussions and role-playing activities related to suicide intervention.\nAnyone unable to commit to attending the entire two-day course.\n\nLunch is provided but there will be no honorarium for attendance.\nLocation: SFN Culture Center Gymnasium 8:30am - 4:30pm.
