ASIST Training

On Monday, June 29th and Tuesday, June 30th SFN will be hosting LivingWorks to facilitate Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training. ASIST is a two-day, interactive, evidence-based workshop that helps participants develop the skills and confidence to recognize when someone may be at risk of suicide, engage in a supportive conversation, and connect them with appropriate resources.
Who is ASIST good for?
- Employees who interact regularly with community members, clients, coworkers, or the public.
- Individuals who want to build confidence in recognizing and responding to someone who may be at risk of suicide.
- Anyone interested in developing practical intervention and support skills that can be used both in the workplace and in everyday life.
Who SHOULD NOT take ASIST?
- Individuals who are currently experiencing significant emotional distress or are in the midst of a personal crisis that may make participation difficult.
- Those who are not comfortable engaging in discussions and role-playing activities related to suicide intervention.
- Anyone unable to commit to attending the entire two-day course.
Lunch is provided but there will be no honorarium for attendance.
Location: SFN Culture Center Gymnasium 8:30am - 4:30pm.
