About the Position

The Saulteau First Nations Mental Wellness Department is seeking a compassionate and supportive psychiatrist to join our team. The position offers part-time hours on a remote or hybrid work arrangement and is well suited to a psychiatrist who values holistic, trauma-informed, culturally relevant care. The psychiatrist will join an interdisciplinary team of mental health professionals and play an integral role in improving access to mental health services for Saulteau community members.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive assessments for conditions such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and other mental health disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, including medication management.
  • Provide follow-up care to monitor patient progress and adjust treatment as necessary.
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver integrated, patient-centered care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records in compliance with CPSBC and privacy regulations.
  • Collaborate with Saulteau First Nations team members and community supports more broadly to coordinate treatment and care.
  • Commitment to patient-centered, culturally responsive care and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Education and Experience

  • Must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Psychiatry.
  • Must be licensed with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC. Potential compensation is provided to help alleviate costs to register for out of province applicants.
