Announcing a new phase of park management!

This project aims to re-confirm with various SFN members to enable meaningful participation about the further development of the draft Klinse-za/Twin Sisters Park Management Plan. This will include members having a say about the community’s long-term vision statement for the area, the proposed land management objectives, management directions and zoning. Your input will help to ensure the long-term protection and culturally-appropriate use of this recently expanded cultural landscape.

Participation Process: Under the guidance of the Treaty and Environmental Protection Department (TREP) and local consultant Reg Whiten (InterraPlan Inc.) and community coordinator Calvin Napoleon over a 12 week process has been initiated that will include the following:

  • Youth Group session
  • Elders Group session
  • Guardian program session
  • Fort St. John and Dawson Creek community focus meetings
  • Information table at the Indigenous Stewardship Areas Open House held at the Cultural Centre
  • Community household survey with members, and specific land-knowledge holders

If you would like to get involved or have questions regarding the work, please reach out to the TREP Department for further updates or stay tuned on our website and Facebook pages for Consultation Opportunities!
