Minor Flood Warning - May 07-14 2026

Posted May 7, 2026 in

Please be advised, our area has been identified as possibly experiencing Minor Flooding over the next 7 Days (May 07-14 2026).

This minor flooding advisory includes Moberly River, Moberly Lake, Muskoti Creek, and all other small creeks and tributaries in our region.

While we are all happy to be welcoming back warmer weather – this heat impacts the rapid melting of snowpacks, which can lead to increase in water flow through run off channels, creeks, rivers, and lakes. We do not anticipate any rapid or sudden onset flooding, but please do use caution around creeks, rivers, and lakes as increase in water flow can lead to erosion, de-stabilization of river bands or shorelines, or overland flooding should culverts fail.

Included here are a few tips and tricks to keep yourself safe in these conditions –

  • Please use caution around creeks, rivers, and lakeshore – remembering that shorelines often become soft and unstable during flood events.
  • Check your basements and cellars – keeping valuables off the floor or in waterproof storage containers.
  • If you regularly accumulate water in your basement or lower levels, consider unplugging appliances you do not depend on as an extra precaution.
