Attention!!!
Over the next 5–6 weeks, BC Hydro, their contractors, and the Saulteau First Nations Public Works team will be working throughout the community to mulch vegetation under powerlines. This work is important for maintaining safety and reducing fire risk, but it also means active work zones and equipment will be present.
For everyone’s safety, please keep the following in mind:
• Stay at least 200 feet away from mulchers while they are in operation
• Do not enter active work zones at any time
• Watch for signage such as “Mulching/Mowing in Progress” and “Men & Equipment Working,” and slow down when passing through these areas
• Be aware of flying debris, as well as falling trees or branches that may occur without warning
• Do not approach workers or equipment unless you have made clear eye contact and have been signaled in by the operator, including hand fallers
• Expect high noise levels, as mulchers and chainsaws will be in use
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as this work is carried out to help keep the community safe.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Marci at mdoonan@saulteau.com or call 236-364-2019.
